would you hlep me with my old laptop and dead sony PCGA-BP51A battery

Question:My laptop is 5 years old and the sony PCGA-BPZ51 battery is dead but it had still been working fine plugged in. But now the problem is the cord is very touchy so sometimes it doesn't register that it is plugged in and then runs off the battery therefore causing it to shut down. Answer:Sounds like cord is bad of the battery. SImply move the plug around (going into laptop) a little bit and if the light on the computer goes out there is a problem with the cord. If you also try moving the wire by closely grabbing the wire to where it plugs into the laptop and move it it may be a problem with the solder connections for the port on the motherboard. In which case the batttery needs to be replaced.you would base on laptop model to choose.
