What Would Cause My Laptop to Shut Down

Question:I recently dropped my laptop, but so far everything is working relatively well. However, I have noticed that if I put the battery in it stays on for a while and then shuts down, but if I I just use the AC Adapter without the battery it works fine. I have used AVG to see if it was a possible virus or any errors, but so far nothing has showed up in the results. To be honest, I think that it is something wrong with the toshiba PA3383U-1BRS battery , because it works fine without the battery. Any ideas? Answer:if you've dropped it perhaps you've damaged one of the battery cells , then that would cause issues hardware wise.as for anti virus, u run a firewall as well i hope ? when u scanned for viruses , try tapping f8 on boot. safe mode. then scan. that will be better for finding anything hiding.new battery sounds more probable though.
