how to use my Toshiba PA3176U-1BAS battery
Question: have had my Toshiba PA3176U-1BAS battery about 8-12 months and it doesnt seem to be charging well when i plug it in, it starts to charge and then it stops, is there a problem with my battery or my charger?? is there anything i can do to fix it?
Answer:If you usually have your laptop plugged in to a power socket when you use it, then your battery continually charges, uses, recharges. This reduces the life of the battery dramatically, much like with mobile phones. You should either remove the battery entirely and connect your laptop to the main power when you use it, or only connect it to the mains when you need to charge it, then unplug it when it’s finished charging.Dell 1691P battery
Of course it is possible that you have a faulty battery, but either way it sounds like you could do with replacing it. There’s no real way to ‘fix’ a battery that won’t hold its charge properly, unfortunately.
